40 years of Golden Bridge

Corum pays tribute to the Golden Bridge by presenting two new limited edition versions to mark the 40th anniversary of its launch. In the Golden Bridge Rectangle with a white gold case, the House has added a beautiful hand-made floral engraving on the case itself. The acanthus and fern are the hallmarks of the 'Sapin' style created in La Chaux-de-Fonds. These floral details have been engraved on all Golden Bridge baguette movements since the watch was launched in 1980. This version was made in a limited edition of just three pieces, in honour of the three founders of the brand, whose foundation dates back to 1955. And while the Golden Bridge has arrived to celebrate its 40th anniversary, Corum is celebrating its 65th birthday in this 2020. The model with an 18-carat rose gold case honours the 40th anniversary of the Golden Bridge collection with the limited edition engraving inside the case at 3 o'clock and the brand's 65th anniversary with the Corum logo (the famous key) on the sapphire crystal caseback. True to the collection's roots, the watch employs an 18-carat gold Golden Brige baguette movement. "We were inspired by the Art Deco period," explained Boon Chong Soon (Corum's Director of Marketing and Sales), "which certainly laid the foundation for some of the models created by Bannwart," (Corum's founder, ed.). "By including Corum's emblematic key on the sapphire crystal case back of the pink gold model and the hand-engraving on the case of the white gold model, we are not only celebrating the anniversary of Corum and the Golden Bridge, but also the history of artisanal watchmaking in La Chaux-de-Fonds." The Golden Bridge Rectangle is powered by the CO 113 calibre (dimensions 14 3/4'' x 5'', 19 jewels, 40-hour power reserve, bridges and plate in 18-carat gold). Prices: 39,800 euros (18-carat rose gold, limited edition of 40); 42,800 euros (18-carat white gold, limited edition of 3).
