Double Milanese opening for Chopard

The Swiss Maison inaugurates its new boutique in Via Montenapoleone and a temporary Café.

The Swiss company has chosen a venue as rich in atmosphere and charm as the Grand Hotel et De Milan to set up its temporary Café. Until 28 October, therefore, the Caruso Bar and Restaurant in the Milanese hotel is dressed in Chopard colours and fragrances. Chopard Caffè is a space that fuses the iconic elements of the brand with the suggestions of a Parisian bistro, revisited in a Milanese key.

The outdoor veranda welcomes guests in a perfectly balanced dualism: the elegance of the décor, in which blue and gold dominate, embraces an explosion of colours and fragrances. The indoor room retraces the history of the Maison through images that tell the savoir faire and the passion, dedication and art that make Chopard "the artisan of emotions since 1860"., as its motto states.

Chopard has also inaugurated a new Milanese boutique, at number 25 Via Montenapoleone. This is a tribute to the city of fashion; this new shop adds to the network of Chopard boutiques that the Scheufele family designs as familiar, unique and welcoming places. The point of sale covers an area of 90 m2where marble and fine wood prevail, and draws inspiration from the greatest architects of 1930s Milan, in particular Gio Ponti, Giovanni Muzio and Piero Portaluppi. Co-equal, all three were linked to the city's greatest architectural achievements and also contributed to the development of Italian design and interior architecture, especially Gio Ponti who founded the Milan Triennale in 1933 to present the designers and creators of the Bel Paese.

The arches structuring the interior space, both vertically and horizontally through the central window, are very present in the work of Muzio and Portaluppi. The walnut wall panels with engraved rhombuses are reminiscent of Gio Ponti's designs, in particular the wall decorations of the Hotel Parco dei Principi. Finally, the floor is covered with a sumptuous Fior di Bosco lombardo, a grey-brown marble with white veins.
