Fondazione Cologni launches the new site dedicated to Italian schools of art professions

The Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte is renewing its commitment to promoting artistic craftsmanship to young people by creating a new site for orientation towards Italian schools of artistic crafts: www.scuolemestieridarte.it. A selection of training institutions can be found on the portal, reflecting the variety of trades that can be learnt: from mosaics to goldsmithing, from lace to leather goods, from footwear to violin making, from restoration to show business tailoring. Many of these schools are authentic excellences recognised throughout the world, capable of transmitting Italian know-how to the new generations through theoretical and practical lessons, company internships and in-depth events. Moreover, they guarantee young people an above-average employment opportunity in manufacturing sectors that increasingly need artistic and specialised labour to meet the growing global demand for Made in Italy. Today, the portal becomes part of another Fondazione Cologni project, Wellmade (www. well-made.it): the platform that allows people to discover the best artisans in Italy, learn about their work and review their tailor-made products and services. The aim is to create a universal dissemination network for artistic crafts, where the masters can meet a wide audience of lovers of the 'beautiful and well-made', influential experts and promoters of the sector and, as of today, also the institutes where the talented apprentices of tomorrow grow up.
