Upcoming meetings with L'Orologio

From 9 to 10 September at VO Vintage in Vicenza, from 16 to 17 September in Collio at The One auction: these are dates and places where we can meet in the coming days.

The return from summer break coincides with a packed agenda of events. Already on 28 August, you could have stumbled upon yours truly at the Geneva Watch Days, where the city's hotels hosted the creations of major brands and independent watchmakers.

Attention was catalysed by the Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days, a watch that brings attention back to a complication - the power reserve of more than a week - that enjoyed a period of glory in the early 2000s, with Patek Philippe's Tourbillon 10 Days and the Lange 31. Today, savoir-faire in the field of ultra-thin watches allows Bulgari to offer 8 days of autonomy in a timepiece only 5.95 mm thick.

Among the independents, I would like to mention H. Moser & Cie., with its Streamliner Tourbillon in pink gold with a hypnotic Vantablack dial, and MB&F, which delighted everyone by displaying the 20 proprietary calibres, designed in collaboration with great master watchmakers, created in just 17 years of the brand's existence.

The most important point of our two days in Geneva, however, was the human factor. The diffuse exhibition is not comfortable to visit, especially when Geneva welcomes you with a temperature of 30 degrees outside, but meeting people live was priceless. It catapulted us back into the heart of the industry, giving us a load of energy to spend in the coming months.

Please note: if in September we open the dances with VO Vintage in Vicenza, where I myself will moderate a few talks that I invite you to attend, in October we return to talk about modern watchmaking, primarily thanks to the events that we will organise for L'Orologio Club members and our Watch of the Year award, but it doesn't end there.

Are you curious? Keep following us. On paper, web and social.
