The beating heart of Breguet

Breguet enlivens the image of the Reine de Naples with a new invention protected by several patents: a heart-shaped minute hand, off-centred at 6 o'clock on a white lacquered sapphire crystal dial at the bottom, which changes shape thanks to an ingenious play of gears. Composed of two independent arms, it is in fact capable of changing to form a heart that is more elongated as it travels along the upper half of the dial and rounder in the lower half. Its end, marked by a very small red heart, indicates the minutes on the hour circle, crossed by discrete hearts every five minutes. To improve legibility, the quarter numerals are distinguished by their size and the border, lacquered in vermilion red, a colour also found on the leather strap and crown, adorned with a ruby. The hour, indicated by a drop of purple lacquer, appears in the centre in a small window. 128 diamonds are set on the pink gold of the flange and bezel. The setting on the folding clasp reflects the sparkle of the 0.94-carat pink gold case. The sapphire crystal back reveals the movement used, a mechanical self-winding calibre 78A0. The gold surround is engraved with the watch's individual number from the Maison's archives. The Reine de Naples Coeur, in a limited edition of 28 numbered pieces, is accompanied by a small red grainé calfskin handbag and reserved for a selection of boutiques.
