The return of the partnership between TAG Heuer and Porsche

TAG Heuer and Porsche sign a long-term agreement regarding their involvement with Formula E, with the Swiss watch brand becoming Title and Timing Partner. Porsche will enter the 2019/20 ABB FIA Formula E Championship under the name TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team. In the past, the two companies have garnered several motor racing successes together. A notable example for Porsche is the 'TAG-Turbo made by Porsche', which powered Formula 1 cars in the 1980s, winning two Constructors' Championships (1984 and 1985) and three Drivers' Championships (1984-1986). The Heuer brand was already involved with motorsports in the 1970s, with Jo Siffert driving for Porsche from 1966 to 1971, winning a series of endurance races and contributing to Porsche's victory in the 1969 World Sportscar Championships. In the 1990s TAG Heuer became a sponsor of the Porsche Supercup and continues to be a partner of many Porsche Cups to this day. The new partnership in Formula E will reap the benefits of combining expertise in different fields, pushing both companies to a new dimension in terms of technology, accuracy and connectivity. Stéphane Bianchi (Ceo of LVMH Watch making division and Ceo of TAG Heuer) said: 'We are truly honoured to begin our partnership with Porsche, a move that will further strengthen our presence in Formula E. Besides sharing the same passion for motorsports and having the same competitive spirit, our two brands share the same uncompromising love for quality and technology. TAG Heuer looks forward to supporting the team on its Formula E journey and in the upcoming races".
