IWC presents 'Time well shared'

In the midst of the global health crisis, friends of IWC in Italy are also joining the brand's international family to support the "TIME WELL SHARED" project. Through this initiative, actor Pierfrancesco Favino and Chef Andrea Berton, Brand Ambassadors for IWC, and friends of the brand Rudy Zerbi and Serena Autieri, share time, knowledge, experiences and passions through digital channels. In this time of uncertainty and isolation, IWC's friends in Italy also wanted to take part in the international 'TIME WELL SHARED' initiative. "At a time of extraordinary difficulty, we want to share a positive message of solidarity and hope. Through our spontaneous initiative, we want to propose a new way to stay in touch with the IWC family. Our goal is to encourage everyone to make the best use of their time, be there for others, move forward and become stronger," said Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of the Schaffhausen-based manufacturer. "TIME WELL SHARED" comprises a series of online contributions that IWC is publishing via digital channels for a couple of weeks. The aim is to entertain and support in these difficult times. Michelin-starred Chef Andrea Berton, an IWC Ambassador for several years now, will offer all fans a special yet simple recipe that is easy to make even at this time when finding ingredients is not a matter of course. A way to offer everyone a little domestic luxury during the closing of restaurants; cooking, which has always been a great protagonist for Italian culture, is experiencing a moment of extreme celebrity during this period of forced isolation. Pierfrancesco Favino will read an excerpt from THE LITTLE PRINCE; IWC Schaffhausen has been working closely with the heirs of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry since 2005 and is strongly committed to the foundation that bears his name. The Italian actor offers an exclusive reading of a chapter from the famous novel The Little Prince that will entertain young and old alike. "At that moment the fox appeared. - Good morning,' said the fox. - Good morning,' replied the little prince kindly, turning round: but he saw no one. - I am here,' said the voice, 'under the apple tree...'. The fox, a wild animal that the Little Prince learns to tame, is the one who teaches this child the profound meaning of friendship, a value that today, during this isolation, we are all learning to cultivate in a different way. In these difficult times, the story is a powerful reminder that the best things in life are the simplest and that true wealth lies in caring and giving to others. Rudy Zerbi, friend of IWC and TV, radio and digital entertainer, has enthusiastically joined the TIME WELL SHARED project and will offer his contribution by showing how time is important for any kind of work; music is also one such example, in just a few seconds one can generate great and unique emotions and achievements destined to last forever. We will find out which Beatles song Rudy will choose as the emblem of this contribution. Serena Autieri has also agreed to take part in Time Well Shared: she will dedicate an exclusive performance of Fred Buscaglione's well-known song, Love in Portofino, to all fans. Portofino is both one of the most popular collections from the Schaffhausen factory and a location on the Ligurian Riviera much loved by Italians and international tourists. Next to each contribution there will be a button for making a voluntary donation, following IWC's example. With the funds raised, IWC will support Save the Children. Save the Children is committed to improving protection programmes for children and families living in countries affected by the virus, intensifying support for national health systems and raising awareness of how parents and carers can provide psychological support to children.
