As is now tradition, Perrelet celebrates the Chinese New Year by dedicating a new timepiece from the Turbine collection to the rat - the zodiac sign of the year 2020. Thus was born "Turbine Rat", featuring the iconic Turbine technology that has just celebrated its debut ten years ago. With a black PVD steel case 44 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 5 atmospheres, it features an animated dial protected by a sapphire crystal. The Turbine's anodised aluminium blades are engraved with the 12 symbols of the Chinese horoscope, with both the design and the respective Chinese ideogram. The "star" of the 2020, the mouse, is highlighted on the blade at 3 o'clock in an intense shade of red: its stylised figure appears as soon as the Turbine makes a spontaneous rotation thanks to the movement of the wrist alone. The flange displays the hours, minutes and seconds. The minutes are clearly marked in Arabic numerals every 15 minutes and interspersed on a scale of 5 with hour markers, both treated with black SuperLuminova, as are the hour and minute hands. In keeping with the style of the dial, the central seconds hand is red. Turbine Rat is equipped with the automatic P-331 calibre that ensures a 42-hour power reserve. The sapphire crystal back allows one to admire the movement whose bridges are decorated with the "côtes de Genève" motif. The model, in a limited edition of 100, is completed by a black rubber strap with a black PDV-coated steel folding clasp embellished with the Maison's logo.
