L'Orologio 193 is on newsstands.

The cover is dedicated to Breguet's Type XXII, the first automatic chronograph to reach a frequency of 10 Hz and equipped with a movement with a silicon escapement and flat balance spring. For the occasion, the same article also features an interesting interview with Marc Hayek, CEO of the House and grandson of Nicolas Hayek, founder of the Swatch Group.

Our 'Front Page' also features some of the most prestigious Maisons' previews for SIHH 2011, as well as the usual selection of models made on the basis of the press releases we received in the editorial office.

On the subject of designer multi-complicates, our choice fell on the platinum novelties from Vacheron Constantin's Patrimony Traditionnelle collection, a line inspired by the same stylistic dictates as some of the brand's historic timepieces, reinterpreted in a contemporary and modern key while still retaining a basic classicism.

This issue's buying guide is dedicated to large date watches, which are becoming increasingly popular and which we offer you in a wide range of models with a variety of functions and price ranges from 1,720 euros to 28,700 euros.

Like every year in December, this month we publish the Argò Prize rankings for the most beautiful watches of 2010, chosen by the editors of l'Orologio and Chrono World magazines on the basis of readers' recommendations. There are five categories: Technical, Timeless, Sporty, Chronograph and Ladies.

The traditional appointment with 'Technical Examples', finally, is dedicated to an in-depth examination of the subject of the finishes that characterise mechanical movements, notions that are generally found in the technical data sheets accompanying watch descriptions.

The rest is up to you to find out: on newsstands, at 7 euros, or in digital version on www.ezpress.it.
