Morellato - Limited Edition for the Dondi Clock Tower in Padua

Morellato Astrario
Morellato Astrario

The brand Morellato celebrates Padua, the city where the company is based, by dedicating a limited edition clock to it, inspired by the face of the Dondi Clock Tower in Piazza dei Signori. Restored and now back in operation, the clock of the Dondi Tower of Padua is one of the earliest made in Italy and is currently the oldest still working astronomical clock in Europe.

The clock faithfully reproduces, down to the smallest details of the dial, the astronomical clock of the Dondi Tower: in the outer band appears the numbering of the hours in Roman characters, in the inner band the stars, while in the third band are the zodiac symbols. The moon appears in a circular window in the centre, and all the signs of the zodiac - except for that of the scales, which is missing as in the original model derived from the pre-Roman zodiac system - are made with great meticulousness and attention to detail.

Available in only 200 pieces, the new Morellato watch was officially presented on 3 December at a press conference at the city hall.

The movement is quartz and the strap is black leather.

Price: 108 euro .
