In addition to creating watches for men, Perrelet also pays special attention to the female universe. With the Diamond Flower Amytis model, in fact, Perrelet offers a collection designed for the woman who loves elegance and refined style. The Diamond Flower Amytis line takes us on an imaginary journey to the hanging gardens of Babylon, erected by Nebuchadnezzar as a tribute to the beauty of his wife, Queen Amytis de Medie, from whom it takes its name. Perrelet is particularly famous for the animation of its dials, which is achieved through the use of the double rotor, patented in 1995 and now a distinctive code of the Maison. With this model, however, the house demonstrates its great skill in combining the prestigious tradition of the art of watchmaking with the know-how of the Metiers d'Art. After presenting the Diamond Flower Amytis with a black dial last year, in 2016 it dresses up again and dares to colour in the delicate shades of ivory white and light blue. The timepiece, with a round steel case 36.5 mm in diameter, is equipped with the self-winding IWC-manufactured P-181-H calibre with a double rotor, one of which is visible on the dial. The oscillating weight on the dial is a true work of art that brings together different crafts. Stylised petals and leaves, skilfully carved, rhodium-plated, sandblasted and decorated with precious materials such as diamonds (there are 16 in all, totalling 0.067 ct) and mother-of-pearl, give the typical shape to this important automatic watch component. The result is an oscillating mass that seems to dance harmoniously on the dial, following the movements of the wrist. Two variants are available in pastel shades. The ivory-white version has a blue "soleillé" dial on which a white mother-of-pearl half-moon stands out, with Roman hour markers in yellow converging towards the centre and giving a touch of character and originality to the whole. The blue strap version is embellished with white mother-of-pearl on a blue base on which blue/violet Roman numerals stand out. The Diamond Flower Amytis is completed by a white or blue alligator strap to match the colour of the dial, or by a steel bracelet with a folding clasp.
