It is precisely for this reason that Perrelet, the Swiss Maison, after having launched the Weekend collection last year, characterised by a round 39 mm diameter case with a moderate thickness and a silver-plated dial, elects blue and black as the star colours of the new line-extension. A choice that will certainly satisfy the needs of a public attentive to details that underline their personality. The Weekend line offers no less than three models to choose from: from the 3 Hands, with a reading of the hours, minutes and central seconds, to the 3 Hands Open Heart, which allows us to admire the "beating heart" of the watch, i.e. the balance, right up to the version with a GMT function. The latter is an instrument much appreciated by those who love to travel and is designed to allow an immediate reading of two different time zones. Consulting local time and home time is absolutely simple thanks to the 24-hour scale and the intuitive layout. Casting one's gaze over the central circular sector, with even Arabic numerals interspersed with square hour markers and the red triangular-tipped hand, it is child's play to display home time when abroad. The central ring, on both a blue and black background, is highlighted by lighter and darker colours, thus also highlighting the day/night indication of the additional time zone. Very easy to use, all functions are controlled by the crown at 3 o'clock in different positions, including GMT time setting. The new satin-brushed dials, with their essential appearance and very broad thanks to the slender bezel framing them, are embellished with a sunburst decoration starting at the centre and applied hour-markers - double at the quarters - in gold or silvered colours depending on the case version. Protected by sapphire crystal, the Weekend 3 Hands and Weekend GMT also feature a date display at 3 o'clock. The case, water-resistant to 5 atmospheres, is offered in two variants: in steel or in steel with PVD 4N treatment, which gives it the typical pink gold colour. The models in the Weekend collection are animated by the following manufactory-made automatic calibres: P-401 for the GMT, P-321 for the 3 Hands, P-391 for the 3 Hands Open Heart, all with 42 hours of autonomy. The case back, with its mineral glass porthole, offers the viewer the pleasure of admiring the movement and the oscillation of its new solid metal oscillating weight. The rotor is finished in a variety of ways, including a decoration with vertical lines engraved in the central part that gives it a sunburst effect, and the company logo, laser-engraved, on a background decorated with horizontal stripes. Weekend 3Hands, Open Heart and GMT are complemented by a black alligator-print calfskin strap with a pin buckle. Those who prefer a more casual-chic style can opt for the steel versions with the comfortable and ergonomic 7-link bracelet.
