Richard Mille at the Salon Belles Montres

Richard Mille will be present once again this year at Belles Montres, the Parisian Salon which, in five years, has become a key event at the end of November for watch enthusiasts. Many exceptional Richard Mille watches will be presented for the occasion on 23, 24 and 25 November, such as the Tourbillon RM 053 Pablo Mac Donough (pictured), created by the Maison for Pablo Mac Donough, the brand's ambassador and the world's number one polo player. This timepiece is characterised in particular by its "armoured" tonneau case, designed to withstand the extreme shocks of polo. Another model on display will be the RM 055 Bubba Watson, an ultra-sporty specimen with a bezel made of ATZ, one of the hardest materials in the world after diamond and renowned for its great resistance to scratches and unalterable colour. Also noteworthy is the extra-flat RM 033, recognisable by its extremely elegant three-part round case. Numerous technical details distinguish this watch, such as the variable-inertia balance and 42-hour power reserve. And again: the RM016 Black Night, rectangular in shape, with a DLC-treated titanium case and buckle, contrasting with the red rubber flange and strap; or the RM016 in white gold, set with diamonds and black sapphires, rectangular case and skeleton self-winding movement. Finally, as every year, a Richard Mille watch will be presented on the stand of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie: it is the RM037 model, an automatic CRMA1 calibre developed in Breuleux, Switzerland, by the company's specialists. This movement, built on a grade 5 titanium skeleton plate, has a peculiarity: the crown is normally an integral part of the movement, directly connected to it via the bezel that passes through the watch case, and this connection could cause damage to the movement in the event of a strong impact on the crown. On the RM 037, a device makes it possible to eliminate this problem; the crown works anchored to the case and is no longer rigidly connected to the bezel and thus to the movement, an ideal solution for preserving the durability of the mechanism. Numerous other technical details characterise the RM037: an oversized date window at 12 o'clock and a function selector at 4 o'clock; two slightly rounded pushers at 4 and 10 o'clock; a power reserve of around 50 hours; a variable geometry rotor and a variable inertia balance.
