Roger Dubuis 'Dare to be Rare': a special evening with L'Orologio readers

Last 15 June, L'Orologio editor Dody Giussani welcomed our readers to the cosy Rocca watch boutique in Piazza del Duomo, Milan, for the Roger Dubuis 'Dare to be Rare' event, organised in collaboration with the Geneva-based Maison and Rocca 1794. The evening, reserved for 15 readers selected from among those who responded to our invitation in the magazine, on the blog and on facebook, was an opportunity to learn more about the Maison's daring creations, presented at Sihh 2017. With the added bonus of being able to wear them on the wrist. Milena Martina, Country Manager Roger Dubuis Italy, illustrated to guests the qualities of the manufacture and the latest technical innovations by Roger Dubuis. Also on the programme was a 3D journey inside a movement and a practical finishing test. Our readers tried their hand at anglage and satin-finishing a plate under the guidance of one of the manufacture's watchmakers. The event closed with a dinner set up in the Rocca space, with a menu inspired by the company's creations. "I absolutely recommend taking part in initiatives of this kind," was the warm comment of Stefano Madera, one of the participants, "as they give you the chance to learn more about, and touch, the creations of a brand. And to exchange opinions with other enthusiasts and those who work in the watchmaking world on a daily basis'. There were many other positive opinions, such as that of Luca Botticelli: "It was a unique opportunity to understand at first hand what a Maison is and at the same time appreciate the availability and competence of those who, like Rocca watchmaking, are the perfect meeting point for our passion for hands.
