TAG Heuer Autavia 60th Anniversary

Launched in 1962, TAG Heuer's Autavia was the first model presented under the leadership of Jack Heuer. This 2022, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the collection (whose name comes from the union of the words "AUTomobile" and "AVIAction"), the Swiss watchmaker is presenting three new versions, two with chronographs and one with a GMT function. The chronograph, with its 42 mm case, is available with a polished and satin-finished steel case or with a black DLC treatment. Both variants are fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic ring, on which the sexagesimal scale is placed, and are animated by the Heuer manufacture calibre 02 (31 mm diameter, 33 jewels, 28,800 vib/h, 80-hour power reserve, COSC chronometer, column wheel, bridges decorated with côtes de Genève, blackened and skeletonised rotor), a mechanical self-winding flyback chronograph visible through the sapphire crystal on the caseback. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 10 atmospheres. The third Autavia launched on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the collection is the GMT, with a 42 mm steel case combined with a bidirectional rotating bezel with a blue ceramic ring, on which the 24-hour scale is placed. On the blue dial, in addition to the luminescent hands and hour markers (also present on the chrono versions), there is the orange 24-hour GMT hand. The movement used here is the TAG Heuer 7 calibre (ETA-based, 26.2 mm diameter, 28,800 vib/h, 21 jewels, 46-hour power reserve, COSC chronometer), mechanical with automatic winding. The Autavia GMT, water-resistant to a pressure of 10 atmospheres, is combined with a steel bracelet, while the two Autavia chrono versions are fitted with a crocodile strap with a pin buckle.

Prices4,000 euros (Autavia GMT); 5,950 euros (Autavia Chronograph Flyback); 6,600 euros (Autavia Chronograph Flyback with black PVD case).
