Phillips Auction House, in association with Bacs & Russo, is participating in the exhibition 'Watchmakers: The Masters of Art Horology' organised by Galleria Maxima and inaugurated at MAXXI in Rome on 5 April (on until 15 April). On display are the creations of some of the most important independent watchmakers, such as Philippe Dufour, Hajime Asaoka, Christophe Claret, Ludovic Ballouard, De Bethune, Laurent Ferrier, Romain Gauthier, Vianney Halter, Christian Klings, Jean-Daniel Nicolas, Roger W. Smith and Kari Voutilainen. The exhibition also offers the opportunity to admire live the Anniversary Watch no. 1 by George Daniels, considered by many to be the father of independent and modern watchmaking and who influenced many of the watchmakers mentioned above with his work. After the Rome stop, the travelling exhibition will move on to New York, Hong Kong and London. Below, in addition to the opening image, are some shots of the opening night.
