Louis Vuitton - Spin Time Regatta

Among the models that the French Maison has dedicated to the Louis Vuitton Cup (the competition that determines the official challenger of the defender team for the next America's Cup, namely Oracle Racing), the Tambour Spin Time Regatta certainly stands out. It is equipped with an innovative and scenographic display system for the countdown before the match races, which this year has been set at 5 minutes (it used to be 10 minutes, but the rules of the America's Cup allow the defender team to decide this interval as they wish). Pressing the button located at 8 o'clock on the Spin Time Regatta's case switches the watch from 'chrono' to 'regatta' mode (indicated by the inscription at 12 o'clock), and the five cubes on the right-hand side of the dial rotate on themselves and turn red. Once the countdown has started, the same five cubes, starting with the one placed at 1 o'clock, begin to rotate on themselves, passing one by one, as each minute passes, from the colour red to blue. At the same time, the chronograph minute counter located at 12 o'clock also rotates, with the 25-minute index taking the place of the 30-minute index (which is also the zero index), so that once the five minutes of countdown have elapsed it marks zero. Once the five minutes of count-down have elapsed, the five cubes on the right-hand side of the dial will all have turned blue like the bottom of the sapphire dial. The Tambour Spin Time Regatta has a white gold case 45.5 millimetres in diameter and is water-resistant to a pressure of 10 atmospheres.
