Antica Orologeria Candido Operti - August Appointments

In August, two events were promoted by the Cagliari-based company at Forte Village, Sardinia's most prestigious resort. One featured Audemars Piguet's Royal Oak, which celebrates its fortieth anniversary this year. The showcases specially set up in the space in front of the Operti boutique featured a selection of the collection's most significant models, including the new Royal Oak Automatic in steel, an illustrious descendant of that first luxury sports watch that revolutionised the world of haute horlogerie. Proposed in unprecedented dimensions (41 millimetres in diameter compared to the 39 of the previous models), it retains all the features of its predecessor: alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, white gold for the eight hexagonal screws on the bezel, bracelet integrated into the case, Grande Tapisserie dial. During the evening, which took place on 2 August, the Offshore line of chronographs, which play on the combination of materials (ceramic, steel, forged carbon, pink gold), was also much admired, while the ladies were fascinated by the splendid women's versions of the Royal Oak, embellished with diamonds.

The second event was the contest that closed the August festivities in Sardinia's most famous village and was sponsored, as usual, by Antica Orologeria Candido Operti. Participating were the Forte Village guests, young ladies and young women, among whom Lady and Miss Fortevillage were chosen. Candido Operti offered and delivered, together with the outgoing Miss, the respective prizes: a Chanel watch and a Pomellato ring.
