Eberhard at the Gold Cup of the Dolomites

The Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti ended with good results for the Classic Team of Eberhard & Co., and the classic car team, captained by Corrado Corneliani, is already preparing for what will be one of the most significant stages of the season for historic car racing: the Gran Premio Nuvolari 2012.

After the first positive test at the Winter Marathon, the season's debut race, which saw four Classic Team Eberhard crews at the start and a brilliant second place in the Teams' Classification, the team then conquered the podium at the Coppa delle Alpi and the Gran Premio Terre di Canossa with victory in the Teams' Classification and where, with no less than 10 crews entered, it was the largest Team. Added to this was the excellent result at the Mille Miglia, with two crews classified in the top 15, a 2nd place in the Scuderia and first Italian Scuderia. The 65th edition of the 'Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti', a prestigious regularity race reserved for cars built before 1961, saw 4 Classic Team crews at the start: Sisti-Gregori in a 1936 Riley Spryte, Corneliani-Murru in a 1958 Porsche 356 A T2 Cabriolet, De Alessandrini-Cerofolini in a 1955 Austin Helaley BN1, Di Grandi-Di Grandi in a 1952 Alfa Romeo 1900 Touring. Three cars from Team Eberhard came to the finish line with notable placings: Sisti-Gregori came 3rd overall and overall the Classic Team placed 4th as Scuderia, in the event that brings together passion, glamour, history and classic car enthusiasts in Cortina d'Ampezzo from 30 August to 2 September. The race consisted of 60 technically difficult special stages. The prohibitive weather conditions further complicated the task for the crews, who nevertheless never stopped racing. The selection was tough and out of 120 crews at the start, only 86 finished the race. The next eagerly awaited stage that will bring together the most prestigious classic cars will be the Gran Premio Nuvolari, the world's first regularity race in terms of technical difficulty and number of time trials now in its 22nd edition, starting on 21 September.
