The World of IWC

Welcoming five Club members (Marco Doria, Giuseppe Aloisi, Gianluca Mirante, Denis Fabro and Nikolaij Manakoff) in May 2010 (on the 18th, 19th and 20th to be precise) was IWC, which wanted to introduce its guests to its all-round world. The experience in the world of the Schaffhausen-based manufacturer began with a relaxing cruise on the waters of the Rhine (IWC is located in the German-speaking part of Switzerland and the river has been a major source of energy since its inception) and ended with an exhilarating flight over the mountains aboard a 1939 Jumkers 52. All of this was interspersed with a full-immersion on the history of the brand with a tour of the museum illustrated by Carlo Ceppi, Director of IWC Italia, a visit to the various technical departments and a small lesson in the disassembly and reassembly of the barrel and balance of an ETA-Unitas calibre under the guidance of Prof. Guido Pancani, professor of watchmaking and consultant to Richemont.
