Seasonal checks

Beyond the purchase, some customers come to the shop on a regular basis because they like to keep up to date, exchange opinions, and discuss the novelties offered at each salon, be they related to style or technique. Many times they simply come to relax in our surroundings that are familiar and hospitable to them. This can often also be an opportunity to give them advice, remind them of maintenance deadlines and seasonal checks, which are often overlooked. Because we usually think about checking vehicles but watches much less, considering them indestructible. It is then inevitable that many watches arrive in the hands of our technicians in a desperate condition, code red stuff, especially at the beginning of each summer season when, not having checked seals or water resistance for years, the sea does the rest. Here, then, is a reminder to the absent-minded, the lazy, those who consider the watch an object to be ignored, useful only for reading the time without coupons and without the need for 'fuel', overhauls, blue stickers, etc. This is not how the life of a watch goes. Now comes summer, you go to the sea, you sweat a lot, there is a lot of humidity, the stress on the poor watch increases, so go to your trusted workshop and entrust it to them at least for the summer checks - gaskets, tubes, crowns, glasses, bracelets, water-resistance test - little things, no need to be frightened, services that are often offered - such as the water-resistance test. Remember that a loose screw will cause you to lose your watch at sea, a small and invisible crack in the glass will let water in, a worn crown will be an easy opening for water, dust or sand. So, make a little effort: take the poor watch in for a check-up, don't wait too long to see it "flooded" and perhaps "finished" forever, it has been your faithful companion in the passage of time, a silent friend of your adventures, of your secrets, anxieties, joys, sorrows, satisfactions and much more, so love it a little... it deserves it.
