Rado Timekeeper at Sony Open Tennis in Miami

In an effort to reinforce its commitment to the world of tennis during 2013, Rado announces that it will serve as Official Timekeeper for the 2013 Sony Open in Miami, Florida. The official timekeeping systems will be represented by Rado HyperChrome clocks on the court and the brand will also equip the spectator areas and the popular 'smash corner', where fans can view the speed of shots. One of the most fascinating and anticipated tournaments outside of the four Grand Slam tournaments, the Sony Open is also one of the most prestigious. Hoping for clement weather, more than 320,000 fans will flock to the Crandon Park Tennis Centre during the two weeks of the exciting final round. The tournament will attract the best of the world of men's and women's tennis, along with a large list of celebrities.

Renowned for its purple playing surface, the Sony Open is part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000, which sees players compete against each other in best of three sets, in the hunt for both the title and important world ranking points. Of the nine events in the ATP World Tour Masters 1000, the Sony Open is one of the most eagerly anticipated, thanks in part to the beautiful setting in Miami. Confirming Rado's role as Official Timekeeper of the tournament for the next three years, Rado CEO Matthias Breschan said: "We are delighted to be the Official Timekeeper of the Sony Open in Miami. It is one of the favourite competitions for players and fans alike and we look forward to being part of one of the tournaments known to many as the 'Glam Slam'." The Swiss company thus strengthens its commitment to the world of racquetry, having also signed a pertnership agreement last year with Scottish champion Andy Murray, visible in these photos.
