The brand Omega renews the glories that have made it a protagonist since 1932 in the timing of all Olympic events (the agreement between the company and the International Olympic Committee was recently extended until 2020). In fact, there is little time left until the next Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010, which will begin with the opening ceremony on 12 February, and in the Canadian city the giant Omega Countdown Clock is preparing to mark the remaining time.

The Games will last 17 days and will be attended by over 5,500 athletes and officials representing over 80 countries, an unprecedented turnout for this type of event. The Paralympic Games, on the other hand, will start on 12 March and continue for another ten days. According to the organisers' estimates, this event will see the participation of over 1350 athletes and officials representing over 40 countries.

For the occasion, Omega has created the Seamaster Vancouver 2010 Limited Edition, available in two versions, with 41 and 36.25 mm cases respectively, both produced in 2,010 numbered pieces and equipped with the Omega 2500 Co-Axial calibre.

The models have a white lacquered dial and a bezel with a red anodised aluminium bezel, the colours of the Canadian flag. The dial is also reminiscent of snow and ice, two elements that will feature during the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.

On the counterweight of the red-tipped, rhodium-plated seconds hand are the coloured circles of the Olympic logo.

This version of the Seamaster Diver is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel and helium valve. Water-resistant to 300 m depth-

The caseback features an embossed reproduction of the logo of the Vancouver 2010 Games with 'Ilanaak', the symbol of the event, inspired by the image created by members of the First Nations of Canada who piled stones on top of each other to greet anyone crossing their territory. The mascot's name, Ilanaak, stands for 'friend' in Inuktitut (a language spoken by Canadians).

Recommended retail price: 2,780 euros.
