Rado's HyperChrome collection is enriched with a new complication, the second time zone, while the case is made of hi-tech plasma ceramic. The latter creates a mysterious and suggestive metallic sheen, achieved without the use of any metal. The plasma carbocementation process is patented and exclusive to Rado, which has perfected it to the point of creating a modern form of alchemy. Gases activated at 20,000°C are able to change the chemical composition of hi-tech ceramics without altering their essential characteristics. Thanks to this treatment, only the colour of the ceramic surface is changed, while the metallic finish that emerges in each watch will not fade over time, retaining its natural scratch-resistant shine for years to come.
