Alpina's sailing yacht, a Swan 82 Feet FD, won the thirty-fourth edition of the Heineken Regatta in Saint Martin, Netherlands Antilles, held from 6 to 9 March 2014. For the occasion, the Swiss watchmaker, in its role as Official Timekeeper of the event (eleven classes were admitted to take part and over two hundred yachts took part), promoted Alpina Regatta Timer, its collection of chronographs dedicated to sailing. Presented in 2012, it consists of models characterised by a countdown mechanism that enables the crew to start the regatta in the best possible way (the heart of these watches is the Sellita SW500 automatic calibre, visible through the opening in the case back).
