BaselWorld 2014: TAG Heuer novelties

TAG HEUER MONACO V4 TOURBILLON_01

At BaselWorld 2014, TAG Heuer unveiled its second in-house 100% chronograph movement, mounted on the new Carrera CH80, and the very latest Monaco V4 Tourbillon, which "complicates" the complication by using, in a world premiere, a micro-belt to power the Tourbillon without the latter suffering any recoil. The main advantage is the absolute fluidity of its rotation. This avant-garde watch is equipped with a linear automatic winding system; the mass is guided inside a track rather than by a traditional rotating system. Another première: the barrels are mounted on ball bearings. Entirely hand-moulded and assembled in TAG Heuer's avant-garde Haute Horlogerie workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Among the exclusive materials used in its production is space-grade black titanium used for the case. The two novelties were celebrated with a party attended by more than 800 guests at Kaserne, one of Basel's most avant-garde locations.
