Towards a Bulgari-manufactured movement

The vertical integration strategy initiated in 2000 by Bulgari. Indeed, it is very recent news that Finger, a Swiss company specialising in the creation and production of sophisticated cases for complicated, high-end watches of the most prestigious international watch brands, has purchased the 100%. Based in Lengnau, Finger was founded in 1889 and currently employs 17 people. Following the acquisition, Finger's current operational management will remain with the company and will report to the Bulgari Group's Watch Business Unit in Neuchâtel.

It all started in 2000 with the acquisition of the 100% from Gérald Genta S.A., Daniel Roth S.A. and Manufacture de Haute Horlogerie S.A., the owner of the relevant production facilities. In 2005, it was the turn of Cadrans Design S.A. to acquire 50% from Cadrans Design S.A. and 51% from Prestige d'Or S.A., two Swiss companies specialising, respectively, in the production of metal dials and bracelets for high-end watches. In early November 2007, the Bulgari Group acquired machinery and intellectual property for the production of watch components from the Swiss company Leschot S.A.. The agreement also provided for the integration of approximately 20 people (master watchmakers and personnel specialised in production and technical development) within the Bulgari Watch Business Unit in Neuchâtel by the end of November. This initiative will support the in-house development of a new manufacture movement.
