A childhood myth! Topo Gigio - wouldn't you know it - will be 50 years old in 2008. TCM, to celebrate the birthday of Italy's best-loved mouse, has produced a super-limited series of 50 examples plus a number zero, exclusively for Gioielleria Uglietti in Vigevano.
The watch has a brown dial with blue numerals and a small yellow Topo Gigio silhouette at twelve o'clock. On the case back, a medallion depicts Topo Gigio in one of his typical poses, accompanied by the inscription "What do you ever say to me", which needs no explanation. The model is accompanied by a special "Gigesca" Certificate of Origin signed by Maria Perego, its creator. Equipped with a self-winding mechanical movement, the Terra Cielo Mare Topo Gigio has a leather strap with contrasting stitching, which bears the Gigiomatic inscription on the inside, with a personalised pin buckle. Price: 960 euro.
