There were 600 guests in all (including us) at the evening organised at BaselWorld 2010 by TAG Heuer to celebrate its 150th anniversary and launch Odyssey of Pioneeers World Tourwhich will showcase the most exclusive watches from the brand's past and current history in 15 cities between May and October. Leading the tour will be the new TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster, a zero-emission electric supercar resulting from the brand's collaboration with Tesla Motors. Guets star of the evening, American actor Leonardo Di Caprio, ambassador of the Swiss brand, but also committed to environmental protection.
The evening was also the occasion for the official debut of the Grand Carrera Pendulum, a revolutionary new concept watch, featuring for the first time a mechanical movement without a balance spring.
