Thirty years have already passed since Swatch presented its first collection, which consisted of twelve models. This is why the Swiss watchmaker is celebrating this important anniversary with a model that is intended to sum up these thirty years of success. It is the Swatch Est. 1983 (SUOZ161), part of the New Gent collection, which has a transparent plastic case and strap and a skeleton dial. The mechanisms are highlighted by the gold colour and the word 'Celebrate' appears twice in black on one of the gears. Printed in gold on a wide silver-coloured band are the dates of the years 1983 to 2013. Each year evokes memories of other important Swatch watches, such as the POP, the Scuba 200, the heavy-metal Irony, the coloured Gent, the Skin and the technological Touch, not to mention creations by artists, athletes and fashion designers. In addition, the Italian artist Lorenzo Petrantoni took a leap back in time with his imagination to 1983, evoking a world full of surprising events in his commemorative poster. The Swatch Est. 1983 has been on sale since March 2013.
