Corum's Admiral lays itself bare

New at Baselworld 2018, the Admiral 45 Squelette from Corum is distinguished by the absence of a dial, which leaves room for the movement, the self-winding CO 082 calibre, and its skeletonised bridges coated with an anthracite grey layer to create a double contrast. The date display is a departure from tradition, with a disc featuring larger-than-usual Arabic numerals cut out one by one by means of EDM to produce thin, unsupported numerals driven by an invisible transmission system located under the flange. To make it easier to read this squelette date display, Corum has inserted a window at 6 o'clock coloured in turquoise, yellow or red. Hours and minutes are indicated by large Dauphine hands pointing to the unmistakable Admiral line flags engraved on the bezel. The whole is encased in a 45 mm grade 5 titanium case, water-resistant to 300 metres and fitted with a vulcanised rubber strap. The collection comprises seven models in a limited edition of 288 each (three versions with a natural titanium case and four versions with a matt black PVD-coated titanium case).
