Hausmann & Co - Patek Philippe Award 2018

The sixth edition of the 'Hausmann & Co - Patek Philippe' Prize allocates funds for the creation of the 'energy campus', a new Enea training centre at the Casaccia Research Centre, on the outskirts of Rome. The campus will unfold along a path of learning in the classroom and in the field, where secondary school students, university students and young researchers will be able to explore topics that ideally touch on all the colours of energy: the 'white' of energy efficiency (so-called white energy), the 'red' of the sun with the solar disc, the concave mirrors of the thermodynamic plant and the sustainable air conditioning of solar cooling, the 'green' of the green economy with biomass plants, recycling and reuse of waste, and the 'blue' of energy from the sea with the Pewec plant that uses wave motion to produce electricity. In addition to the contribution for the construction of the "campus", the "Hausmann & Co - Patek Philippe" Award will recognise Enea's excellence by awarding prizes to seven researchers "under 40", three of whom are authors of patents of particular note in the fields of sustainable building, earthquake-proofing, and food. The awards ceremony will take place on 4 June in the gardens of Palazzo Venezia in Rome.
