Porsche Design pays tribute to the 70th anniversary of Porsche's founding by presenting the 1919 Datetimer 70Y Sports Car Limited Edition, a limited special edition of 1,948 pieces. Referring back to 1948, the year of the debut of the legendary Porsche 356 - the predecessor of the 911 - this model combines design elements and features found on vintage car instruments and reinterprets them for a wristwatch. The 42 mm titanium case is water-resistant to 10 atmospheres and houses a Swiss Made self-winding mechanical movement with a 38-hour power reserve and equipped with the characteristic Porsche Design Icon Rotor. The titanium carbide coating produces a subtle matt black lustre. Adding an elegant touch to the sporty look, it maintains the focus on the watch's essentiality: the black dial. The case back is finished with a special engraving of the '70 years' logo as a further tribute to Porsche's anniversary. Characterised by a sober and functional design, the watch leaves room for emotion by displaying the silhouette of the Porsche 356 and the year 1948. The dial also includes the characteristic tachometer rings used on the dashboard of the legendary Porsche 356. To ensure maximum contrast and readability, the white hands, numerals and three-dimensional ceramic indices are perfectly integrated into the dial and offer perfect legibility even at night. The date window at "3 o'clock" ensures an easy-to-read display without compromising the minimalist design of the dial. The strap is made of top-quality leather, just like the seats in Porsche sports cars. The limited edition 1919 Datetimer 70Y Sports Car completes the exclusive 1919 collection, which is inspired by the purism and functional aesthetics of Porsche cars. The collection, which further raises the quality level of the watches, is currently available in 13 versions. This limited edition is delivered in a personalised box with an engraved metal plaque.
