Vacheron Constantin wins 'Revival' award at GPHG

The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awarded the "Revival" prize to Vacheron Constantin's Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942. This model is the perfect embodiment of unique savoir-faire and features a deliberately vintage look that reinterprets the creativity and aesthetics of the iconic timepieces made in the 1940s. In particular, the Historiques Triple Calendrier 1942 in steel is inspired by the reference 4240, which debuted in yellow gold, pink gold and steel in 1942. True to the original, this sober and elegant model displays the hours, minutes, date and small seconds (at 6 o'clock), while the day of the week and month are displayed in a double window. The calendar indications are available in a dark blue shade on a two-tone silvered dial characteristic of the era. The centre of the dial with its sunbrushed satin finish and the outer disc decorated with Arabic numerals enhance the legibility of the functions and accentuate the retro-chic elegance of the timepiece. During the GPHG award ceremony, Christian Selmoni, Style and Heritage Director of the Maison, commented: "Beyond and more than the model itself, this recognition rewards the passion and savoir-faire that have been passed down through many generations in our Manufacture. The pride with which Vacheron Constantin develops its timepieces stems from a precise vocation and mission: to create beauty by associating the excellence of Haute Horlogerie and watchmaking complications with the refinement of design and aesthetics. This is what, in our Manufacture, we call intelligence of the hand".
