Tangente Update wins iF Design Award

Tangente, the iconic timepiece from NOMOS Glashütte, wins another award: its new date ring represents 'excellence in design'. The iF Design Award is one of the world's most prestigious design prizes. In Hamburg, this year's award went to the Tangente neomatik 41 Update from NOMOS Glashütte. The basis of the new model is Tangente, already a classic with its 25-year history. In 2018, Tangente was presented with a new date ring on the outer rim of the dial showing the entire month. With this new automatic timepiece made in-house (the design is by Michael Paul), NOMOS Glashütte achieves a prestigious goal in watchmaking: the combination of technical and stylistic innovation. In the short time since its launch, Tangente Update has already garnered two international awards: in November, it was awarded the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève for outstanding technical features and manufacturing excellence. The latest iF Award is in fact the fourth for NOMOS Glashütte: before the Tangente Update, the Minimatik (in 2016), Tangente neomatik midnight blue (2017) and Metro neomatik 39 silvercut (2018) were awarded.
