Jaeger-LeCoultre presents three new Reverso

Since its creation, the Reverso has lived through a succession of epochs and trends, while rigorously maintaining intact the codes of the Art Deco tradition that distinguish it: its pure, essential lines, its emblematic rectangular case, its unmistakable knurling and its reversible system. The first Reverso was presented in 1931, when the Manufacture took up the challenge posed by a British officer who wished to protect the dial of his watch from the shocks to which it was exposed during the often lively polo matches. Reversible, as its name suggests, this timepiece quickly established itself as an icon far beyond Swiss borders. The case turns easily to reveal either a full, customisable second side or a second dial. Bearing witness to the timeless appeal of this line, here are some of the novelties presented at the last SIHH, namely the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds, the Reverso Tribute Duoface, the Reverso Tribute Duoface Fagliano Limited and the Reverso One Duetto These are three new versions of the Reverso Tribute collection. The extremely essential design of the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds enhances the bold colour of the dial and the matching strap with stitching, designed by the famous House of Fagliano. The burgundy/burgundy colour is the star of the creation and a story of passion. That same passion that drives master watchmakers, Jaeger-LeCoultre artisans and lovers of fine objects, most of whom love to collect different models from the Reverso line. Sublimated by luminous and satin tones, the Reverso Tribute Small Seconds timepiece will certainly not go unnoticed. On a burgundy-coloured dial, the discreet details of the new Reverso Tribute Small Seconds edition create a strong contrast: emblematic knurling, dauphine hands, hand-applied hour-markers, small seconds at 6 o'clock. The functions are animated by the hand-wound mechanical movement Calibre Jaeger-LeCoultre 822/2, entirely designed and assembled by hand at the Manufacture. True to the principle of reversibility, the second side of the timepiece, with a closed back, leaves room for personalisation, like the blank page of a book. The Reverso Duoface, for its part, was developed by Jaeger-LeCoultre in 1994. This highly precise watch conceals a revolution universally appreciated by lovers of fine mechanics. It consists of two time zones on two separate dials animated by one and the same movement, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 854A/2, housed in a 10.3 mm thick case. On the first side, a window at 6 o'clock houses the small seconds, and on the second, the day/night indicator allows one to distinguish between daytime and night time in the country of origin. At SIHH 2019, Jaeger-LeCoultre also put the spotlight on several women's models, including the new Reverso One Duettos with their unmistakably elegant case. By day, for a simple but at the same time elegant look, we suggest the first side of the Reverso One Duetto watch with a silver guilloché sunburst dial. On this essential dial, the blued dauphine hands and Arabic numerals stand out. In the evening, however, the second side is the ideal choice. The sequin-lacquered, burgundy-toned dial features golden hour markers that split like rays of sunlight. Warm, sparkling and almost velvety, the burgundy shade of the strap of the new Reverso One Duetto watch in pink gold catches and captivates the eye. The soul of this jewellery-watch, distinguished by the brilliant-cut diamonds profiling the case, is expressed in the Duetto concept. A double play of hands animated by one and the same movement: the Jaeger-LeCoultre 844 calibre.
