Jaeger in the footsteps of the America's Cup

Jaeger sulle orme dell’America’s Cup

From 19 to 22 June, the first edition of Jaeger-LeCoultre Just the Best, an international sailing competition inspired by the America's Cup tradition. The crews, on board the Extreme 40s - the ultra-fast multihulls on which the teams entered for the XXXIII America's Cup are currently training - competed to determine the first Defender of the trophy. Exceptional challengers were the winner of three America's Cups, Russell Coutts, and James Spithill, former helmsman of Luna Rossa during the last edition of the Cup, and it was the latter who took the Trophy. With a score of 15 to 3 and an incredible comeback after a first day that had seen him suffer compared to his challenger Russell Coutts, Spithill joins the winners of the Jaeger Le Coultre Just The Best match race whose name will be engraved on the precious silver trophy.
