Panerai opens its first boutique in Rome

Panerai opens its first boutique in Rome, at number 130 of the renowned Via del Babuino, in the heart of the capital, and launches for the occasion the special edition Luminor Marina - 44 mm, the most iconic of the Panerai models. Made in only 130 pieces - like the boutique's house number - with some details inspired by the "eternal city", such as the engraving on the back with the Spanish Steps and the red and yellow stitching on the strap inspired by the colours on the city's coat of arms. At 50 square metres, the new Panerai boutique has four windows overlooking one of the city's most exclusive streets. The materials used, such as the "shiny calacatta" marble of Tuscan origin, burnished brass, bronze, oak and the particular "cannetted", undulating and transparent glass, are clear reminders of the world of the sea and of the Maison's glorious past, which has its roots in the history of the Italian Navy. In fact, many of the decorative elements inside the boutique evoke the survival instruments made by Panerai for the heroes of the time, between the 1930s and 1950s. "We are very proud to open a new boutique in Rome," said Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai. "Italy, in addition to being the brand's country of origin, confirms itself as the number one market for Panerai in Europe. To celebrate the opening, we have launched a special edition of the iconic Luminor Marina dedicated to Roman collectors." With the new opening in the capital, which joins the historic boutique in Piazza San Giovanni in Florence, the single-brand store in Via Montenapoleone 1 in Milan and the boutique in Piazza San Marco in Venice, Panerai strengthens its presence in Italy, positioning itself in the most important cities for international tourism. The number of Panerai boutiques in the world rises to 85 after the recent international openings in Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai.
