Locman celebrates the end of summer on the island of Elba

Locman festeggia la fine dell’estate all’Isola d’Elba

Sunday 31 August in cooperation with the Navy and the National Association of Italian Sailors, Locman Italy celebrates the 19th Navy Day. Guests at the Tuscan House include journalists, celebrities from show business and industry.

We have already reported in L'OROLOGIO 167 on the successful collaboration between Locman and the Armed Forces with specially dedicated series. This year, on the occasion of the festivities at the end of August, the Italian Navy will send a number of special vehicles to Elba, including a glorious slow-running torpedo, also known by the nickname "pig", invented by the Elban hero Teseo Tesei, to whom Locman has dedicated a watch.

The 19th Navy Day will open with a spectacular sailing regatta in the bay of Marina di Campo involving all the island's sailing clubs. At the end of the competition, the Navy's Incursor Group will treat guests to a unique performance: an exciting airdrop with a landing on the beautiful beach of Campo, right in front of the historic offices of Locman Italy.

For the occasion Locman will present Ammiraglio, the new watch from the Navy collection, with a steel case and unidirectional rotating bezel. Water-resistant to 10 atmospheres, it is equipped with a mechanical automatic or quartz chronograph movement. The steel case back is engraved with the motto of the Livorno Naval Academy "Patria e Onore" (Homeland and Honour) embracing a stylised admiralty-type anchor.
