Vacheron Constantin is a partner of the Louvre Museum

This exclusive partnership will give rise to a series of collaborative and co-creative projects in the fields of craftsmanship, Haute Horlogerie, art and culture. The two institutions have already collaborated in 2016, when the La Création du Monde watch, an 18th century masterpiece exhibited at the Louvre, was restored thanks to Vacheron Constantin's patronage. As its numerous partnerships testify, the Maison Vacheron Constantin has always been closely associated with art and culture. The relationship with the Louvre represents the natural evolution of the celebration of beauty and the commitment to preserve and transmit the heritage of the past. Future projects will include collaborations inspired by the Louvre's collections. After having supported in 2016 the restoration of the La Création du Monde watch (a masterpiece of 18th century precision watchmaking offered to King Louis XV in 1754, deposited at the Louvre by the Musée national des châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon), this year Vacheron Constantin signs a partnership with the most famous Parisian museum. The collaboration is inspired by the heritage of the two institutions, which share the same respect for history, culture and tradition. "I enthusiastically welcome this collaboration between our two institutions, both ancient and, at the same time, firmly rooted in the 21st century, as demonstrated by the favour they enjoy among a public of connoisseurs," says Louis Ferla, CEO of Vacheron Constantin. "Our Maison has always distinguished itself in terms of both artistic commitment and cultural patronage. With the Louvre, we are beginning a very promising new chapter. We could not have imagined a better partner for a constructive dialogue on the themes of art and culture. ' For Jean-Luc Martinez, President and Director of the Louvre Museum, 'the museum has always been a living place, inspiring creative talents from every era. I am delighted that the Maison Vacheron Constantin, dedicated to the meticulous and complex craft of Haute Horlogerie, finds in the Louvre a repertoire and techniques that enhance and exalt its attention to beauty." The partnership with the Louvre is the natural continuation of Vacheron Constantin's artistic and cultural commitment, which embraces the domains of centuries-old institutions for which archiving, conservation and restoration of heritage play a crucial role. A passion for the magnificence of the past and the transmission of knowledge also entails a deep respect for the crafts of art, which are as essential to the creations of the Geneva Maison as they are to the activities of the Louvre. On the strength of this shared expertise, which will encourage exchanges on artisanal practices and techniques, the two institutions have signed a partnership in the form of watchmaking projects inspired by the Louvre's masterpieces. Vacheron Constantin and the Louvre will also collaborate on projects aimed at promoting art, creativity and beauty through a multicultural approach. The Louvre, whose original core dates back more than eight hundred years, is a former royal palace, which opened its doors to the public as a museum in 1793. Its collections, spanning nine thousand years and five continents, contain 620,000 works, some of which - such as the Mona Lisa, the Nike of Samothrace and the Venus de Milo - are objects of universal admiration. The Louvre is the number one museum in the world in terms of visitor numbers: 10.2 million in 2018. The museum is open every day from 9am to 6pm, except Tuesdays (the rooms close at 5.30pm); in the evenings it stays open until 10pm on Wednesdays and Fridays (the rooms close at 9.30pm). Admission is free on the first Saturday of the month, from 6 to 10 p.m. For more information: www.Louvre.fr.
