IWC extends warranty from 2 to 8 years

Since 1903, the 'Probus Scafusia' seal has embodied IWC Schaffhausen's uncompromising standards in terms of the quality and longevity of its products. Today, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer renews this promise of excellence by introducing the "My IWC" programme, which offers the option of extending the international limited warranty from two to eight years. When Florentine Ariosto Jones founded IWC Schaffhausen more than 150 years ago, she combined the advanced production methods of the American watchmaking industry with the traditional craftsmanship of Swiss watchmakers. Thanks to this unique engineering approach, the level of industrialisation at IWC was always very high. The so-called Jones calibres were extremely precise, robust and durable pocket watch movements. With the seal 'Probus Scafusia', the Swiss brand's uncompromising pursuit of precision and reliability received official definition in 1903. The Latin motto, which can be translated as 'Quality made in Schaffhausen', was coined by IWC's then managing director Johannes Rauschenbach-Schenk. Today, it is engraved on the crown or rotor of every IWC watch and symbolises the rigorous standards that the engineers in Schaffhausen apply to their work and products. "Thanks to continuous investments in the quality, durability and longevity of our products and the opening of our new production centre in 2018, today we renew our legendary promise of quality to our customers," explains Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen (pictured). "We are proud to introduce the 'My IWC' programme, which allows customers to extend our international limited warranty from two to eight years." From now on, therefore, anyone who buys an IWC watch will be able to participate in the 'My IWC' programme. Once registered, the international limited warranty will be extended from two to eight years. The programme can also be applied retroactively. Enthusiasts who have purchased their IWC watch within the last two years and are still covered by the original warranty can register. Members of the programme also enjoy other benefits, such as access to extra services and timely information on new products and events. The birth of the 'My IWC' programme and the extension of the international limited warranty are the result of years of major investment by IWC in production capacity and quality excellence. An important milestone in this context was the opening of the new manufacture in 2018 to mark the brand's 150th anniversary. In the new factory, IWC was able to bring together case production, movement component production and movement assembly in one extremely flexible open-plan facility. The new production cycle is organised in logical, sequential stages: from raw metal to case and finished movement. This approach allows IWC to achieve more efficient workflows, better communication and a fully integrated quality management system. New-generation, high-precision CNC lathes and milling machines work alongside the best craftsmen, whose skilled hands create watches that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are precise and reliable. IWC watches leave the Schaffhausen factory ready to offer their future owners impeccable timekeeping and the pleasure of wearing them from generation to generation.
