Patek Philippe - Competition for talented new watchmakers

Primo concorso Patek Philippe
First Patek Philippe competition

In April, 18 students from six Swiss watchmaking schools participated in the first competition Patek Philippe of Craftsmanship and Precision. The winner was designated on 5 June in a ceremony at the Patek Philippe Museum in the presence of President Thyerry Stern, Honorary President Philippe Stern and CEO Claude Peny. The competition, which was held with the aim of developing a lasting and solid partnership with Swiss watchmaking schools, is the fruit of the work of a group comprising members of the brand's various departments: watchmaking, international customer service, human resources, sales and marketing, and management of the Patek Philippe Museum.

The theme of the competition, as the name underlines, is closely linked to the brand's core values: craftsmanship and precision. The technical examinations took place in one of the manufacture's workshops and were judged by a qualified jury of Patek Philippe staff.

The top three winners were given the opportunity to enrich their professional experience with practical internships in Patek workshops, while the first place winner also had the chance to spend a period in one of the service centres abroad, in the Barcelona branch.

The next edition of the competition will take place in 2011.
