The new Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50

1969 was the year of the first automatic chronograph movement and Hamilton played a leading role in it. The Caliber 11 inspired the design of dozens of sports models from 1969 onwards. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this important watchmaking milestone, Hamilton presents the Chrono-Matic 50. Unmistakable and bold, this watch certainly does not go unnoticed. The Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 is based on the Chrono-Matic E from the early 1970s, a model that has now become a sought-after collector's piece. The early 1970s were a period of great creativity, during which original models with innovative features were launched that sought to exploit the pioneering features of the new Caliber 11 movement. Thanks to its decisive contribution to the creation of the Caliber 11, Hamilton was in a privileged position to create models that best expressed the new technology. This was one of the most important turning points in the watchmaking world since the launch of the legendary Ventura in 1957. With its generous dimensions (the case measures an impressive 48 mm in diameter), and authentic 1970s style, the Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 is truly an imposing watch. The watch is also characterised by the date at 6 o'clock and the chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o'clock. The two red chronograph pushers are located on the right side of the case. This vibrant note of colour is echoed in all the chronograph details, such as the counters, chronograph hand and inner dial ring, to highlight the dynamism of this watch. The H-31 automatic chronograph movement offers a 60-hour power reserve, a modern touch that ensures long-lasting operation, even after a period of rest. The rapid date change function is designed for those with busy lives and is activated by the pusher at 10 o'clock. The crown at 8 o'clock, on the other hand, is used to turn the inner ring for setting the countdown. The strong personality of the Hamilton Chrono-Matic 50 is designed for the most eclectic collectors and for those who pay a lot of attention to design in a watch. The watch is being produced in a limited edition of 1,972 pieces. Price: 2,295 euros.
