The historic Pont de la Machine, a Geneva building erected on the Rhone in 1843, is now home to the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship. Renamed 'Arcades des Arts', it will be used for exhibitions and events to bring watchmaking and craftsmanship closer to the public. "Independent but complementary, these two foundations aim to promote a culture of excellence that is expressed both in haute horlogerie products and in the creations of master craftsmen," said Franco Cologni, Chairman of the Cultural Committee of the FHH and founder of the Michelangelo Foundation.
