Baume & Mercier - Clifton Baumatic

The Clifton Baumatic is a concentrate of aesthetic sobriety and technical reliability, equipped with the latest generation of the Baumatic calibre - the BM13 - which is COSC-certified (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) and resistant to the magnetic fields found in everyday life. A must-have in men's wardrobes, this Baume & Mercier model is a champion of elegance thanks to the various combinations of materials and refined colours available. The case is crafted in 18-carat rose gold or polished/satin-finished steel. The dial offers great visibility, and is protected by a domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment for enhanced readability. Thanks to the back, also made of sapphire crystal, it is possible to admire the finely decorated movement and oscillating weight. The rose gold model features a "warm" white dial with a porcelain finish, embellished with gilded hour markers and hands, and accompanied by a contrasting black alligator leather strap. The steel version, on the other hand, offers a shaded blue dial with an integrated steel bracelet or black alligator leather strap. Light or dark, with a porcelain effect or a slight nuance that turns from blue to black, the dial is punctuated by riveted and facetted trapezoid hourmarkers, slender alpha hands and a large date window positioned at 3 o'clock. In anthracite or white, depending on the model, the minute track and the central crosshair symbolising COSC certification elegantly complete a harmonious display. Even the caseback, closed with four screws and surmounted by a sapphire crystal, reveals the exquisite workmanship of the automatic calibre, which is modern with its traditional finishing - circular-graining, sandblasting, colimaçonnage or Côtes de Genève - on the plate, bridges and oscillating weight, pierced in steel-coloured tungsten or gilded. The Phi-shaped lyre at the heart of the movement represents balance, harmonious proportions and Baume & Mercier's quest for perfection. And finally, a touch of elegance and practicality: the five-row bracelet in polished/satin-finished steel is equipped with a triple folding clasp with a safety catch. The Clifton Baumatic uses the Baumatic BM13 calibre, a mechanical self-winding movement with a power reserve: 120 hours, or five days (compared to the average 40-70 hours). The movement is also antimagnetic, i.e. it offers resistance to the main magnetic fields that can cause the movement to malfunction and stop, an indispensable feature in a world that is always in contact with mobile phones, tablets or even the simple magnetic clasps on handbags. In addition, COSC certification guarantees a deviation of between -4 and +6 seconds per day (compared to the 20-30 seconds of a standard watch that requires constant time adjustment). Without compromising on quality, the Clifton Baumatic is the timepiece that will dress the wrist of haute horlogerie lovers with elegance and personality.
