Zenith and Land Rover sign the new Defy 21 Edition

Zenith and Land Rover present a special edition watch inspired by the new Defender, the automotive icon re-imagined for the 21st century. Produced in only 250 pieces, it will be available at the same time as the new SUV. Produced with a titanium case in a micro-bead-blasted finish, which absorbs light from every angle to accentuate its faceted surfaces, it has a look reminiscent of stealth aircraft surfaces. Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith, says: "Like the El Primero and its many versions over the years, the new Defender enters a new era with a bold and highly personal character. Zenith's Defy 21 Land Rover Edition chronograph also reinterprets the past while looking to the future, with an emphasis on durability, precision, comfort and bold design." The dial of the watch appears to be one with the case thanks to its matte grey finish, which gives it a different look from the skeleton versions of the Defy 21 as standard. The orange and white indices add legibility and contrast to the display, as do the special skeleton hands. For the first time on a Defy 21, the power reserve indicator is a window rather than a hand. Visible through the engraved caseback is the El Primero 9004 automatic 1/100th of a second movement, with a special oscillating weight that reproduces the design of a five-spoke Land Rover rim. There are two straps: the 'Adventure', an all terrain in textured rubber, and the 'Country', in grey rubber with a fabric effect and orange stitching.
