NOMOS Glashütte for Doctors Without Borders

The NOMOS Glashütte manufacture is producing a new limited edition in support of humanitarian initiatives, and this time - for the first time - it is doing so with the automatic Tangomat model. A 12 in red on a dial known for its essentiality: the new NOMOS special edition for Doctors Without Borders Germany also bears the now iconic detail that distinguishes watches created to do good. The collaboration between the German watch manufacturer NOMOS Glashütte and the Nobel Prize-winning organisation dates back to 2012. The Tangomat für Ärzte ohne Grenzen Deutschland is the eleventh model created by NOMOS Glashütte for humanitarian support. The Tangomat, a robust model with a diameter of 38 millimetres, is a classic of German manufacture. Inside it beats the manufacture automatic calibre DUW 5001. As well as being extremely comfortable, the metal bracelet underlines its strong character. For each one sold, 250 euros will be donated to Doctors Without Borders Germany. One watch, in other words, will make it possible to cure 1,470 children who have contracted malaria, or to buy anaesthesia for ten surgeries, or to ensure that 450 people receive essential medicines for three months. For the customer, however, the price remains the same as for the classic model with leather strap, despite the use of the metal bracelet and the limited production of 250 pieces. "At the basis of a partnership, it is important to us that there is a deep sharing of principles and values. The collaboration with NOMOS Glashütte is experienced by both parties with great conviction," said Florian Westphal, CEO of Doctors Without Borders Germany. 'Together, NOMOS and Doctors Without Borders save lives'. The special edition, as mentioned limited to 250 pieces, is available at selected retailers throughout Europe.
