The 2020 Mille Miglia will take place from 22nd to 25th October and Chopard will once again proudly fulfil its role as Principal Partner and Official Timekeeper of the famous regularity race for classic cars, a position the Maison has held continuously since 1988. Every year, Chopard's Co-Chairman Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, who is a great fan of cars, takes part in the 1,000-mile (or 1,650 km) endurance race from Brescia to Rome and back. And every year, the Maison offers a new collection of Mille Miglia watches to celebrate what is called 'the most beautiful race in the world'. Among them, this year the House presented the Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chrono in steel (limited edition of 750 pieces), where the layout of the auxiliary dials is inspired by the dashboards of vintage cars. The watch is distinguished by its elegant "Azzurro" steel dials, a colour that creates a beautiful contrast with the "Mille Miglia Red" used for the hand details and the immediately recognisable arrow-shaped "1000 Miglia" logo framing the date window. The The Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chrono combines the cenytral chrono seconds hand with three auxiliary dials reminiscent of a car dashboard, dedicated to displaying chrono hours (at 6 o'clock), continuous seconds (at 9 o'clock) and chrono minutes (at 12 o'clock). The blue and grey lacquered bezel bears a tachymeter scale for calculating speed and distance. The Chronograph, completed by a perforated leather and rubber strap with a "pneumatic" motif, has a solid case back with a chequered motif, surmounted by the red Mille Miglia arrow, while the words "Brescia > Roma > Brescia" are visible on the edge. Water-resistant to 10 atmospheres, the watch is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement.
