Bell & Ross presents its new aviation watch, the BR 03-92 HUD with a matt black ceramic case. In line with the Instruments collection to which it belongs, the timepiece is inspired by displays on military aircraft equipped with the latest technology: in particular, the Head Up Display - also known as the HUD - a transparent display that reflects the idea of augmented reality and shows in the pilot's field of vision all the information essential to accomplishing a mission; its primary function is to keep the pilot focused on his frontal target, without having to take his eyes off the field of vision. Specifically, the augmented reality concept applied to the watch involves its construction on three superimposed levels. At the top level, the green-tinted sapphire crystal creates the effect of the HUD's digital display, using the surface of the dial disc and the glass; in addition, four square brackets are printed on the back side of the glass to recall the four corners of the HUD's field of view. At the central level, black and green hands mark the minutes and seconds; the central parts of the hands have been deliberately hidden to further increase the analogy with the numerals and legibility of professional aeronautical instruments. At the lower level, the hours are displayed by a green triangle indicator that appears in the centre through an independent, ungraduated concentric disc. The intense green light is achieved by the use of SuperLuminova C3 for the hour numerals, hour markers, triangle, as well as the minute disc and hands; it is also applied to the four square brackets below the crystal. In a limited edition of 999 pieces, the watch is powered by a self-winding mechanical movement, calibre BR-CAL.302 (Sellita SW300-1 base) and is completed by both a black rubber strap and an ultra-resistant black synthetic fabric strap.
