On 1 July, Il Ponte is offering a catalogue of pocket watches and wristwatches for its summer auction, with a total of around 130 lots. Predominant is the nucleus of pocket watches, first and foremost the Cartier watch in 18K gold with a remontoir winding movement and minute repeater (lot 475, €4,500-9,000). This is followed by several examples of the same type decorated with fine and sought-after enamels, such as the 18K gold watch finished with green guilloché enamel and pearls from the early 19th century (lot 394, €1,000-2,000), a small ladies' watch with grey enamel and diamonds finished in platinum (lot 382, €500-700) and one with floral decorations in blue enamel (lot 458, €1,200-1,400). In the selection of wristwatch models from the most famous Maisons, of particular note are a 1930s steel Universal Genève chronograph (lot 439, € 2.600-3.600), a Vacheron & Constantin watch with screw-down case and mechanical movement with automatic winding (lot 474, € 1.200-2,400 euro), some vintage watches including a Rolex Ovetto in steel and rose gold with caché lugs from the 1940s (lot 443, 2,000-3,200 euro) and a Gérald Genta with perpetual calendar and moon phases in yellow gold (lot 446, 1,800-3,000 euro).
